In 2008, Kevin Hendrickx graduated for piano from the music academy in Lier, as a student of Christine Baeten. Consecutively, he started studying choral conducting with G. Hendrix, music theory with C. Van Looy and cello with H. Vertommen at the same academy. Currently he is also studying singing (A. Pardon) and organ (P. De Maeyer) in Gentbrugge.
After debuting as conductor with the Arenberg Orchestra in 2012, he started to gradually focus more on the orchestra repertoire. He completed his studies in orchestral conducting with Bart Piqueur in 2017, and he continues to attend several masterclasses (Maiaerhofer, Bollaert …) and private lessons (Edmond Saveniers).
In 2013, he participated in the 4th international masterclass in orchestral conducting led by Prof. Ilona Meso (Liszt conservatory) in Budapest, where he worked with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra MAV. In 2017, he took a masterclass with Achim Holub and the London Classical Soloists, where he became laureate in the competition.
He has worked as guest conductor or rehearsal conductor with a variety of orchestras and choirs, including the Leuven Arenberg Orchestra, Artis Dulcedo, the Sunshine Philharmonic Orchestra Wuhan, the Ghent University Symphony Orchestra, the Ghent University Choir, the Wutan Polytechnic University Choir, the Chorale de la CIUP Paris, Helicante and the Chamber Choir Helicon. These projects have brought him to all the corners of Europe and even to China, and they have given him the opportunity to work with a number of young and inspiring soloists and composers.
Apart from his musical ambitions, Kevin obtained a PhD in Sciences from Ghent University in February 2018.
