Welcome to Continuo
Het alumni & personeelsorkest van de UGent.
Het orkest werd opgericht in 2015 en staat sinds de start onder leiding van dirigent Kevin Hendrickx. ‘Continuo’ staat voor ‘verder gaan’ en benadrukt dat de zin om samen muziek te maken en de verbondenheid met de universiteit niet verdwijnen na afstuderen. We organiseren zelf jaarlijks twee concerten en geven daarnaast gelegenheidsconcerten. Dikwijls wordt hiervoor ook samengewerkt met andere muziekgroepen en artiesten en solisten uit binnen- en buitenland.
Continuo kiest resoluut voor een avontuurlijke koers en begeeft zich voorbij het grote en bekende repertoire. We voeren modern werk uit van jonge componisten, maar ook oude onbekende parels uit de Westerse muziekgeschiedenis.
