Conductor

Kevin Hendrickx studied piano, music theory, and choral conducting at the music academy of Lier. In 2017, he completed his training in orchestral conducting with Bart Piqueur and went on to pursue studies in composition and conducting at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, where he studied with, among others, Kristiina Poska, Daan Janssens, Filip Rathé, and Johan Duijck.

From 2023 to 2025, he served as assistant conductor of the Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen under the direction of Kristiina Poska. Kevin has conducted, among others, the Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, the Budapest Symphony Orchestra MAV, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, the SPECTRA Ensemble, the Bulgarian State Opera Stara Zagora, the Nemø Ensemble, as well as various orchestras and ensembles of the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. Under his direction, more than twenty new compositions have received their world premieres.

He was awarded laureate status at the London Classical Soloists Beethoven Competition and attended masterclasses with renowned conductors such as Martin Sieghart, Alexander Polyanichko, and Dejan Savić. In 2015, he founded the orchestra Continuo Orchestra, an ensemble bringing together alumni and staff of Ghent University.

As a choral conductor, Kevin was for many years affiliated with the Leuven University Choir and currently conducts the Roeselare Chamber Choir. In addition, he has worked with ensembles such as the Kammerchor Stuttgart, the RNCM Chamber Choir, and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir. He further refined his expertise in choral conducting through masterclasses with leading conductors including David Hill, Frieder Bernius, and Yuval Weinberg.

Alongside his musical activities, Kevin earned a PhD in the sciences and is affiliated as a lecturer with Ghent University.
